This weekend, we’ll be loading up the car and the dogs — seriously, they’re going to be loaded on Benadryl — for our move back to Pennsylvania. Not sure when RUTS will be updated again, since that all depends on when Comcast feels like coming to our new house.
During my absence, it’s practically a certainty that the Phillies will lose their 10,000th game in franchise history. I have tickets and a chance to see #9,999 on Saturday night, and maybe even #10,000 if the Rockies take the first two games of the series. It wouldn’t be right for the Phillies to break the record anywhere else than Citizens Bank Park, however, so they’ll need to win one game in Denver this weekend. After the All-Star break, the Phils return home for a four-game series against the Cardinals before heading to Los Angeles.
I’ll put up an open thread later. Stop by with any news updates, general whining, links, and other stuff you think the world needs to know about. We’ll do our best to travel safely, and will be back in Pennsylvania in a week. By then, it’ll be time to get Deadly F’ing Serious about college football. Nothing else will matter.

There are two other good reasons to vote for Mike Fisher — he hits a golf ball a fucking ton (I’ve had the honor of playing with “The General”, as he was still known in 2000) and his daughter is a very nice girl who married into an extremely cool family.
