I’ve invested so much time watching this team play since I moved back from Colorado in July. While Penn State and the Eagles may be awful right now, the entire weekend was entirely worth it for this moment. In fact, if you asked me on Saturday morning “would you accept a 4-8 Penn State season if the Phillies made the playoffs?”, I would have taken it in an instant. Fourteen years is a long time between playoff appearances, you know.
And as a matter of full disclosure, I still can’t watch any of yesterday’s Phillies highlights without tears welling up in my eyes. The last three months has been filled with so many unbelievable ups and downs that I would’ve been crushed into powder if the Phillies missed out on the playoffs yesterday.
Ahem brother. I get misty myself watching Brett strike him out. I also get those goosebumps that they have been selling with every ticket.
A losing season for dear old State just to get a professional baseball team into the playoffs??? No friggin’ way, man!!!
Don’t ruin this for me. It might only last until Friday.
