A Case Of The Mondays
February 10, 2008 by Run Up The Score!
Seriously, you knew it was going to be a good night in the desert. (Awww, man…video’s down. See comments.)
Super Office Space.
What’s worse than talkers at a concert? Nothing. Nothing is worse than talkers.

First video no longer available?? NOOOOO!
Um I love Jeff Tweedy. Wilco is fucking awesome.
The Office Space thing is gold.

Rat f’ing bastards! It was the PSU drum major absolutely nailing the pre-game flip at the 1987 Fiesta Bowl — which may still work if you head over to the actual YouTube site. It’s possible that it’s only working for me because it’s in the cache.
Either way — dick move, YouTube user.
Also, yes, Jeff Tweedy is the tits. And if you scroll down far enough and look on the right side of the page, the link to a Tweedy acoustic concert may still work.
Blast, link isn’t good anymore. Got a Wilco favorite?
I have tickets for Wilco at the Tower Theatre in two weeks, I can’t wait for that shit. 5th row too. I know Tweedy’s fuse can be short at times and I’ve been debating on whether or not to take my camera in to record a song or two and throw it on YouTube. Have any of you folks been to a Wilco show? some advice?
One more thing, why is the time stamp an hour fast? Is that middle Atlantic ocean time?
Joepadon,
I’ve seen Wilco three times, Jeff Tweedy solo once. I haven’t caught them with the new lineup, but expect to have your face rocked off either way. The vibe is usually pretty laid back and fun, but if Jeff’s in a bad mood, the quality definitely suffers. Don’t be “that guy” that screams out requests, unless it is encouraged. It seems to really piss Tweedy off, for some reason. Otherwise, you should expect a few old gems (especially since they’re playing to a large crowd at the Tower Theatre), but it will mostly be post-YHF stuff. And you’ll probably be treated to a few new songs as well. Have a great time! I was going to go to that show, but the journey from State College can be grueling, especially with late-afternoon classes on Friday.
Okay, the time issue should be fixed. No idea why we were on Newfie time.
Maybe it’s time for another Wilco rarities post. It seems that the service I was using for file storage (DivShare) is cracking down on mp3’s. I’ll look into it.
I wanted Philly Wilco tickets in the absolute worst way, but I got shut out of both the pre-sale and the Ticketmaster sale, which apparently lasted about three minutes before it sold out. So yeah, boooooooooo.
I had a shot at the show at the Tower Theater but my class schedule up at UPark and lack of car kept me from going. My buddies and I are going to try and get out to Chicago where they play all the time.
“Maybe it’s time for another Wilco rarities post.”
YES YES OH MY GOD YES
First, a disclaimer: I love Tweedy. I love Wilco. I have made those feelings known regularly here and elsewhere.
That being said, I have three bootlegs his of solo shows and personally attended a fourth, and every one of them included the rant against talkers (not to mention a 2001 Wilco show at the Majestic Theater in Detroit where he does the same thing and the Montessori show, which devolved into an argument between a rowdy - read: drunk - crowd and a clearly agitated Tweedy).
Not to condone the talking (which is just about the most annoying thing in the history of everything in the universe), but the constant complaining gets old.
