Austin Scott To Attend PSU Pro Day

March 5, 2008 · 4 Comments

Not sure it’ll magically convince any NFL teams to hand him an undrafted free agent offer, but Austin Scott will work out for pro scouts on March 18:

“We have a letter of invitation,” said Chris Lencheski, president and CEO of SKI & Co. “And Austin will be there ready to go.”

Penn State team spokesman Jeff Nelson said he had received an “indication that [Scott] was going to be invited.”

A copy of the pro day itinerary included Scott along with linebacker Dan Connor, cornerback Justin King, and quarterback Anthony Morelli, among others.

Unlike Connor, King and Morelli, though, Scott was not asked to the NFL scouting combine two weeks ago. Lencheski said that there were “four or five” inquiries, but that off-the-field concerns ultimately prevented an invitation to Indianapolis.

Was Anthony Morelli even at the Combine? I don’t even know because I don’t have the NFL network (and even if I did, I wouldn’t watch the combine) and ESPN never mentioned him, so either he wasn’t there or he must have not been impressive, both of which are possibilities. I wish he was there if only to find out his Wonderlic score. We could be talking Vince Young levels here.

He was there. And what do you know, our new discovery, Blog Sweat & Tears was all up on that shit.

He was there, and he was pretty bad. Overthrowing and underthrowing receivers on the deep routes, as per usual.

What about Kinlaw? He wasn’t invited to the combine (not sure why), so is he participating here?
