Unfortunately, I must report the apparent demise of The Go! Team. They didn’t break up or anything, but their new album sucks. This makes me sad. More on that in a moment. In the meantime, some things that don’t suck:
mp3:
Guilty Simpson — Man’s World
Ben Lee — What Would Jay-Z Do?
Evil Harrisons [...]

(Update: James Brown link fixed, thanks Ma Bell.)
For the uninitiated, “mashups” are the musical equivalent of ADHD — a bunch of songs fused together, testing your senses and memory. dj BC does them right. I linked to his ridiculously tremendous mashup of the Nintendo Wii soundtrack and Vanilla Ice’s “Play That Funky [...]

As I mentioned last week, in addition to the usual batch of mp3’s, I’ll be telling you about some of my personal favorite albums. The general rules are in last week’s post. Upon further contemplation and the advice of the readers, I’m not going to rank the albums in any particular order. [...]

Joseph Paterno, of 1245 Palm Bay Rd., was charged with trafficking cocaine after Palm Bay [...]

Also, [...]

While I’ll certainly continue to drop occasional mp3’s in posts throughout the week, Friday will be the day where you can count on some free songs. I think it’s a good way to end the work week for all of us, especially after dissecting the previous week’s games, the upcoming game, and whatever else is [...]

I clearly should’ve thought of this earlier, but here’s a tribute to the end of Michael Vick’s football career. Unless he’s planning to take on the Mean Machine, of course.
Met this little guy during my first hour in New Orleans in January:
mp3:
Alamo Race Track — “Don’t Beat This Dog”
Temple Of The Dog — “Call [...]

Great article about Phillies’ backup catcher / folk hero Chris Coste in today’s Philly paper:
In Ottawa, few knew Coste’s story and he had only an inkling of the groundswell back home. It hit him only when optioned to Reading in May (after a brief call-up), when fans in the Phillies-friendly towns of Trenton, Harrisburg [...]

I have a love/hate relationship with “Entourage”. I laugh, but it always seems like the show could be a thousand times better (although the last few episodes have been very good). If this show doesn’t end with a Johnny Drama and Turtle spinoff, there’s something very, very wrong with the world.
Anyway, here’s a [...]

Only 40 days until Penn State takes the field at Beaver Stadium. Forty days until Dan Connor returns and scatters opponents’ teeth like Chiclets shot from a Jugs machine.
With this in mind, here’s all the Penn State Blue Band music you’ll need for the upcoming season. These songs are courtesy of fightmusic.com, and [...]
