Do we really need to go through this again?
MGoBlog:
Please. You’d think Penn State fans’ righteous indignation about Rich Rodriguez’s recruiting would be severely blunted by the fact that PSU just yoinked Maryland cornerback Darrell Givens out from underneath Ohio State’s nose. Not so much.
Black Shoe Diaries:
I’m sure that certain people who swear there is no [...]

It feels like the late first round of the NFL draft, when the teams start hammering one particular position for six picks in a row.  Only there’s one team — Your Penn State Nittany Lions.  Another defensive back has joined Penn State’s recruiting class, and once again, he’s from the same high school as a [...]

When Darrell Givens committed to Ohio State, many OSU fans were happy but skeptical because Givens’ decision came out of nowhere. After attending Penn State’s Nike camp over the weekend, Givens changed his mind.
Scout lists him as the #7 cornerback in this year’s class. Both Rivals and Scout have him as a four-star [...]

Some quick recruiting notes:
You’ll remember that Ty Howle, a center from North Carolina, became Penn State’s first verbal committment for 2009.  A few days ago, he was joined by safety prospect Malcolm Willis from Maryland.  A few weeks ago, Willis talked about his preferences:
“Mostly, I’m looking for a school that is tops in football and academics,” [...]

Not Quite Curious

Todd Sponsler:
What is curious is how Penn State is able to still sign highly touted QBs like Morelli and Devlin. It does, though, explain the local losses of Henne and Pryor.
Actually, all four of them are part of the same story. Pennsylvania quarterbacks who looked elsewhere when faced with a question of which program [...]

Always On The Clock

Brian’s liking Michigan’s chances with Kevin Newsome, who is one of the top two QB’s Penn State has been targeting for the past year (not including that Pryor fiasco).  Not good news for PSU fans.  Not even a little bit.
All of Penn State’s QB eggs appear to be in the basket of California’s Tate Forcier, [...]

Je’Ron Stokes could have started for Penn State against Eastern Michigan in September, 2009. Rivals calls him the best slot receiver in the nation. He’s from Philly and just committed to…Tennessee.
This would not happen in Ohio.
Similarly, this is discouraging but still quite early in in the process:

And on and on.  Obviously the Penn State blogs and message boards have been pounding this issue relentlessly, but now it seems that columnists across the state have decided it’s safe to turn the Joe Paterno contract situation into a full-fledged Piñata Party.
This is what happens when a coach spends decades talking down to beat reporters.  It’s too [...]

Penn State officially has a recruiting class for 2009, as North Carolina OL Ty Howle verbally committed yesterday afternoon:
“This was a big family decision,” Howle said. “We sat down this morning, my whole family, and we really felt there was no place I could go to get a better education. And we love the tradition [...]

Perhaps we all should have seen this coming. Terrelle Pryor will ultimately choose Ohio State today, but the clues have been floating around for quite some time. For instance, take this picture of South Fayette students heckling Pryor during a state basketball playoff game by calling attention to a Jim Tressel look-alike.

However, a [...]

Thankfully, the Terrelle Pryor circus is coming to a close this week, as he’s expected to finally make his college decision.  It’s going to be Ohio State.  This means the rest of us can go back to wishing that he totally flames out in college, perhaps gets arrested three or four times in Columbus, maybe [...]

Trouble and general weirdness sure do seem to find Terrelle Pryor rather often.
The playing status of some players on the Jeannette High School boys’ basketball team could be in jeopardy for Wednesday’s PIAA semifinals because of their part in a fight between the Jayhawks and North Catholic after yesterday’s playoff game at Hempfield High School.

Jeannette [...]
